	Var på et sprangstevne i dag jeg. Satt på tribunen da forhesten min skulle starte. Bak meg satt det noen folk og hun ene av dem utbrøt spontant og ikke akkurat lavt heller; "ææææsj, en araber, de er så stygge!!". Ble ganske irritert da..:( Tror folk sier mye rart av ren dummhet og uvitenhet og ikke minst - misunnelse... Vær stolte av hestene deres og ikke bry dere om hva folk sier!!! 	Maxi: Hm? Meg du snakket til? Uansett. hadde veldig lyst til å snu meg og si at jeg var forverten hans... Men men.. en må bare heve seg over slikt. Er utrolig smakløst å sitte og kommentere hestene på den måten hvertfall. Mvh Christine

	Nei ikke deg! A&S&G sier jo at folk sier at hesten hun skal ha på fôr er stygg, så kan jo hun slenge en komentar til dem, men jeg tulla jo bare da. Siktet ikke til deg. http://www.mmdreamteam.piczo.com

Almost all of these are from folks who have read and enjoyed his books, Considering the Horse, and A Good Horse is Never a Bad Color, and many have specific questions pertaining to the information and stories within them. If you were ever one of those people who were interested in how the books came to be, we have some information that we'd like to pass along that might answer some of your questions. First, a lot of folks wonder how Mark ever came to write the books in the first place. Mark had a student named Julie in one of his horse training classes back in the early 1990's. Her and her husband, Scott, owned a horse that they were having trouble with and that they had decided to sell. They asked Mark to evaluate the horse to determine its worth before they put it on the market. After looking at the horse a short time, it was determined that the problems he was experiencing were all relatively minor and Mark spent about an hour helping the horse work through them. Scott, who was an editor for Johnson Publishing Co., was so happy with the results, that he suggested Mark write a book on his problem solving techniques. It was Scott who was instrumental in helping Mark secure a contract with the publishing company. It is interesting to note that the publisher originally wanted a clinical, how-to book on training rather than the story format that was ultimately used for both books. In fact, when Mark turned in the first few chapters of the first book, the publisher seriously considered terminating the contract due to the fact that they felt the book was "too unconventional" and that it wouldn't sell. After much discussion and deliberation, however, the company decided to go with the book after all. They were still not convinced that the book would sell up to it's potential, and as a result did very little advertising for it. Surprisingly, the book began receiving very good reviews from all of the major equine magazines and sold out it's first printing within nine months. Considering the Horse is now in it's third printing, and A Good Horse is Never a Bad Color is in it's second. Another questions that is asked rather frequently is: Was there really an "Old Man"? The answer is yes. His name was Walter Pruit, and Mark worked for him, off and on, from the late 1960's to the mid 1970's. Walter died in 1975. There is more information about the Old Man in the second book, A Good Horse is Never a Bad Color. The third most asked question is: Did all of those things that Mark writes about in the books really happen? Again, the answer is yes. However, as with any book in which people who are being portrayed may not see themselves in a particularly flattering light, many names of people and their horses have been changed so as not to get anyone upset."
